As the biggest event of its kind in Australasia, Xerocon is all about inspiring content, the latest technology and great networking opportunities. The first day certainly lived up to expectations. The central theme of Xerocon this year is stimulating the small business economy through great technology and richer financial services.
Xero CEO Rod Drury reminded us of the huge shift the accounting industry is currently experiencing. Not only are we looking at an increase in cloud-based solutions, but we’re also seeing more opportunities for collaboration across big and small businesses. It truly is an exciting time to be part of the industry.
On Day 1, Xero outlined a string of new initiatives, features and investments aimed at better supporting the accounting and bookkeeping industries. These include an assurance dashboard, a strategic partnership with NAB, and a revamped 'My Xero', which will be simpler, more efficient and more integrated. For the full recap, check out the Xero blog.
David Koch has a big following here in Australia and he didn’t disappoint during his engaging session on Going for Growth. 'Kochie' and a panel of experts emphasised how technology is an important factor in helping people build their small business dreams. "Continually re-engineer your business and look for more efficient ways to run it," he said.
For us, the highlight of the first day was definitely the opportunity to catch up with the many delegates who stopped by our booth in the exhibition area. Thanks for taking the time to connect, and we look forward to seeing you all again for an exciting second day of Xerocon!
